Export Customs Clearance Process
Submit a written declaration to customs within stipulated timeframes, accompanied by relevant transport and commercial documents, applying for release and assuming legal responsibility for accuracy.
Customs examines the submitted documents (primarily the export declaration form) for completeness, correctness, validity, and consistency against relevant laws/regulations.
Customs physically inspects the goods within the supervised area against the declaration to verify details like name, specifications, packaging, quantity, weight, marks, origin, etc., to prevent illegal export/trafficking and duty evasion. The declarant must be present to assist.
While many countries levy little to no export duty to maintain competitiveness, China imposes duties on some goods (e.g., textiles, garments). The exporter/agent must pay the due taxes or provide appropriate guarantees before release.
After accepting the declaration, reviewing documents, inspecting goods (if required), and receiving due taxes, customs endorses the transport documents for release.
